Seaweed - Start With
=====================
tabbed by brack_ack

(w/ corrected lyrics based on Spanaway liner notes from the 1995 cassette tape that I still treasure)

(standard tuning)

intro and chorus melody: uses this sliding chord progression. You only need
to fret the A string and G string, the other strings are finger-muted,
and low-E string can stay open)

e --- x ---- x ---- x ---- x ----
B --- x ---- x ---- x ---- x ----
G --- 9 / 11 / 14 / 13 ----
D --- x ---- x ---- x ---- x ----
A --- 7 / 9 / 12 / 11 ----
E --- 0 ---- 0 ---- 0 ---- 0 ----

   E (2X) F# (4X) A (1X) G# (6X) (repeat)

Verse and pre-chorus uses same basic sliding barre chord progression:

e ---- 4 / 7 / 2 / 0 -----
B ---- 4 / 7 / 2 / 0 -----
G ---- 6 / 9 / 4 / 2 -----
D ---- 6 / 9 / 4 / 2 -----
A ---- 4 / 7 / 2 / 0 -----
E ---- 4 / 7 / 2 / 0 -----

       C# E B A

Each alternate lines in verse and pre-chorus has added C# like so:

       C# E B C# A

Verse Rhythm: Mostly strummimg each chord 5 times (down-up-down-up-down) using standard 4-4 counting rhythm:

  1 2 3-and-4
  1 2 3-and-4
  1 2 3-and-4
  ...

(song starts with intro/chorus melody, see above)

(verse)

 C# E B A

It's unlaughable now but it's not OK

 C# E B C# A

You knew you were screwing us both over anyway

 C# E B A

I wish I could laugh but my laugh's tapped out

 C# E

'Cuz I sat alone as you worshipped your wallet

 B C# A

Setting up goals or whatever you call it

(pre-chorus)

 C# E
Start with

 B C# A

Another person you can juggle

 C# E

Start with

 B C# A

Another sidekick for your show

(verse: first guitar plays same chord progressions as first verse, and if
you want to match the recording then the second guitar plays two more chords
after each line of the verse, sounds like it's the C# chord pitch bent up
followed by the A chord)

C# E B A

Hang it over my head, it's my only home

C# E B C# A

Motivated by cash but I tell you you're not alone

C# E B A

Just down your street to the first cafe

 C# E

They got the cash, now look what it's bought them

 B C# A

New hair and ass but their souls are all rotten

(pre-chorus, see above)

C# E
Start with ...

(chorus lead-in has this quick walk-up lick)

e ----------------------x ----------
B --------------------- x ----------
G --------------------- 9 ----------
D --------------------- x ----------
A --------------- 7 --- 7 ----------
E --- 7 -- 9h --------- 0 ----------

(intro/chorus chords, again)

e --- x ---- x ---- x ---- x ----
B --- x ---- x ---- x ---- x ----
G --- 9 / 11 / 14 / 13 ----
D --- x ---- x ---- x ---- x ----
A --- 7 / 9 / 12 / 11 ----
E --- 0 ---- 0 ---- 0 ---- 0 ----

  E (2X) F# (4X) A (1X) G# (6X) (repeat)

(chorus)
                                      E E F# F# A G#
(E E F# F# A-G#) A one way trip wherever you go

(continue strumming on G# chord)
Together. Whatever. I'm not your accomplice

                                           E E F# F# A G#
(E E F# F# A-G#) And I felt things you'll never know

(continue strumming on G# chord)
Recover your losses and let go

(verse)

C# E B A

Just a few square feet in a block of shame

C# E B C# A

And the way that you act up I'm guessing now you'll remain

C# E B A

So I leave you the key and it's all been done

 C# E
This island was bought for a handful of trinkets

 B C# A
Look at it now, at its best they could sink it

(pre-chorus)

C# E
Start with ...

(post-chorus guitar melody)

e -------------------------------
B -------------------------------
G --14-13-11-13-14-13-11-13-14---
D -------------------------------
A -------------------------------
E -------------------------------

(above is played over this post-chorus/outro)

You were right. I got too close to your shadow

You were right. Now I'm all packed

Forget that you know me

(chorus)

                                        E E F# F# A G#
(E E F# F# A-G#) A one way trip wherever you go

(continue strumming on G#)
Together forever, I am not your accomplice

                                              E E F# F# A G#
(E E F# F# A-G#) And I felt things you'll never know

(continue strumming on G#)
Recover your losses and let go

(end on C#, let it ring out)
