Closing Time By Semisonic
Tabbed By stringping
Tuning: EADGBe Lo to Hi

This is a really simple song, but the it has catchy hooks and chord progressions
There are piano parts that I arranged for guitar, and also a cool guitar riff
near the end of the song. This is the best Semisonic tab out there for closing
time!!! It is complete with everything you need to know on how to play the song.
All I can say is listen to the song so that you know whats goin on!
ROCK ON!!

[Intro] (Warm overdrive)
e|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----7-------5--------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-5---7---7---5--------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-5---5---7---3--------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-3-------5------------------------------------------------------------------|
You have to strum these chords which are G - D - A - C feel free to improvise
while strumming adding little arpeggios.

[Piano Part]
(Arranged for guitar)
e|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-12----12----15----12-----12----12----13----12------------------------------|
G|----12----12----12----12-----12----12----12----12---------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
This appears on the Intro,Verses and after the piano solo. use alternate picking!

[Verse]
(Light Distortion)
e|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-------------7-7-------------5-5--------------------------------------------|
D|-5-5-X-X-X-X-7-7-7-7-X-X-X-X-5-5--------------------------------------------|
A|-5-5-X-X-X-X-5-5-7-7-X-X-X-X-3-3--------------------------------------------|
E|-3-3-X-X-X-X-----5-5-X-X-X-X------------------------------------------------|
Use up and down strokes when strumming these lines keep volume down low!

[Chorus]
(Heavy Distortion)
e|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-------------7-7-------------5-5--------------------------------------------|
D|-5-5-X-X-X-X-7-7-7-7-X-X-X-X-5-5--------------------------------------------|
A|-5-5-X-X-X-X-5-5-7-7-X-X-X-X-3-3--------------------------------------------|
E|-3-3-X-X-X-X-----5-5-X-X-X-X------------------------------------------------|
Pretty much the same as verse but turn the volume up all the way up!

[Piano Solo]
(Arranged for guitar)
e|------------10-11-10--------------------------------------------------------|
B|-11---11-13----------13-11----11--------------------------------------------|
G|---------------------------12-----------------------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
This is played two times then the next measure, this is a simplified version
as the one on the track has quite a few ghost notes.

Piano Solo Contd.
e|-------10-11-10-------------------------------------------------------------|
B|-11-13----------13-11-------------------------------------------------------|
G|----------------------12----------------------------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|

[Guitar Fill 1]

e|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-5-7-9-12-------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-X-X-X--X-------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-3-5-7-10-------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
The 2 guitar fills come after one another that means Play fill 1 then 2 etc...

[Guitar Fill 2]

e|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-9-11-12-16-----------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-X-X---X--X-----------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-7-9--10-14-----------------------------------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------------------------------------------|

These two Fills can actually be managed by one guitarist, just before you strum
the C power chord go in to the fill. And the first time you go into the fill
start with fill 1 when the chorus after the next comes start with fill 2 I know
it sound really complicated but when you hear the track carefully you will know
what I am talking about!
