Hey Willy - Shannon and The Clams (Dreams in the Rat House, 2013)

Chords:

     D G* G C E A
e|---17-----19-----15-----15-----12-----12-----|
B|---19-----15-----15-----17-----12-----14-----|
G|---19-----16-----16-----17-----13-----14-----|
D|---19-----17-----17-----17-----14-----14-----|
A|---17------------17-----15-----14-----12-----|
E|-----------------15------------12------------|

The chords are pretty standard barre chords, just very high up the neck. Sounds most like how they play it
the way I have written the chords, but play it however you want.

The G* chord I have listed is the same as the G with your pinky fretting the 19th fret.
I didn't write the whole chord because it's easier to play it with just those four strings.
I only put the * to signify that little change to the chord. It is only used in the verses.

Intro:

D G* D G*

                    D
Hey Willy, hey Willy
                      G*
You've got yourself a girl
                    D
Hey Willy, hey Willy
                    G*
Been lonely in this world
                  D
You know, you know
                        G*
You've got to treat her fine
                    D
Hey Willy, hey Willy
                     G
And love her all the time

               G C
Just take your teenage arms and your frightened lips
   D G
Go discover what you can't resist
               G C
Well, don't you worry none, she's older than you
          D G
She will know your little brother eyes

                    D
Hey Willy, hey Willy
                      G*
You've got yourself a girl
                    D
Hey Willy, hey Willy
                    G*
Been lonely in this world
                      D
You got to, got to know
                     G*
You better treat her fine
                   D
Hey Willy, hey Willy
                       G
You know that girl was mine

               G C
Well, don't you know 'bout us? Our secret love?
D G
We both learned pain when we were young
            G C
Once upon a time, we were high and free
              D G
Then this old war come runnin' for me

E A E
Then the draft man come
G C G
I left and went on the run
E A E
I know that you were too young
G C D
To know why I went away

                    D
Hey Willy, hey Willy
                      G*
You've got yourself a girl
                    D
Hey Willy, hey Willy
                    G*
Been lonely in this world
                  D
You know, you know
                  G*
My baby brother's grown
                    D
Hey Willy, hey Willy
                           G*
Please make that girl your own
                    D
Hey Willy, hey Willy
                       G*
Please love her like I would

End on G*
