DOTS AND DASHES – Silversun Pickups
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: wbalston

Tuning: Eb Ab Db G
Dots and Dashes is my favorite song off Neck of the Woods. The main riff is repeated
throughout most of the song. It's not terribly difficult but it's one of the coolest
basslines I've ever heard.
To figure out the tuning, I got the fingering from a live video and then tuned
accordingly. SSPU are awesome.
Main riff
(intro)
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-5--------------5---------------5---------------5-------------------------|
Eb|----3---0---3-------3---0---3-------3---0---3-------3---0---3-------------|

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-5--------------5---------------5---------------5-------------------------|
Eb|----3---0---3-------3---0---3-------3---0---3-------3---0---3-------------|

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-------------3---------------3---------------3---------------3------------|
Eb|-5---3---5-------5---3---5-------5---3---5-------5---3---5----------------|

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|-------------2---------------2---------------2---------------2------------|
Ab|-3---2---3-------3---2---3-------3---2---3-------3---2---3----------------|
Eb|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Part 2
(So you wanna mess with me..)
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-------------------------------------------3-----3-2-3--------------------|
Eb|-0-3-----3-0-3------3-5-----5-3-5--------5--------------------------------|

Re-enter with the main riff at (See you in the room next door…) Continue with main riff until…

Chorusy bit
(We signal in a moonbeam..)

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-3333333333333333-22222222-55555555---------------------------------------|
Eb|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

After chorus, play the main riff once through. Then there’s a quiet part that sounds
like synth to me, but you can quietly play along on bass with this part if you are so inclined.

(I just saw innocence..)

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-22222222222222222222222222222222-0000000000000000-3333333333333333-------|
Eb|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Db|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Ab|-77777777777777777777777777777777-0000000000000000-3333333333333333-------|
Eb|--------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Then main riff a few times, chorus bit, then at the end just keep hitting the last note
of the chorus riff repeatedly.

To confirm: the only difference between my tab and the highest rated one is that I started on a different beat. The pattern is the same. My tab was mostly copied over to the highest rated one.
