First, I like the version in D more than in C, sounds more genuine to me.
Suggestion for further nuance: your Am is actually a D9 (D-bass far more logical and plays easier) xx0210

Intro:
D7 D9 G A7 A7sus2 ....

Verse
D D/C# D7
...when times get rough

Chorus
D7 D9 G A7 A7sus2 D Bm
Like a bridge ov-er troubled water

For the rest, great version if you worked that out on your own.

I like the chords. Sounds good, but in between the Ds in the end of one verse and beginning of the next are there different chords or is just D strings plucked individually? I know it's piano in the song, but here?
