Capo 1

[Verse 1]
E
Give me a second I
I need to get my story straight
    C#m
My friends are in the bathroom
getting higher than the empire state
     A
my lover she's waiting for me
just across the bar
              B
My seats been taken by some sunglasses
asking 'bout a scar
      E
and I know I gave it to you months ago
I know you're trying to forget
      C#m
but between the drinks and subtle things
the holes in my apologies
              A B
you know I'm trying hard to take it back
            C#m B
So if by the time the bar closes
       B E A
and you feel like falling down
    A B E
I'll carry you home tonight

[Hook]
E
Tonight
        C#m
We are young
                           A
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
        B
than the sun
E
Tonight
        C#m
We are young
                           A
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
        B
than the sun

[Verse 2]
E
Now I know that I'm not
all that you got
C#m
I guess that I
I just thought maybe we could find a ways to fall apart
A
But are friends in back
So let's raise a cup
B
Cause I found someone to carry me home

[Hook]
E
Tonight
        C#m
We are young
                           A
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
        B
than the sun
E
Tonight
        C#m
We are young
                           A
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
        B
than the sun

[Interlude]
E A
Carry me home tonight
E B
Just carry me home tonight
E A
Carry me home tonight
E B
Just carry me home tonight

[Bridge]
E
The moon is on my side
A
I have no reason to run
E B E
So will someone come and carry me home tonight
                     A
The angels never arrived
                   E
but I can hear the choir
                          B
so will someone come and carry me home

[Hook]
E
Tonight
        C#m
We are young
                           A
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
        B
than the sun
E
Tonight
        C#m
We are young
                           A
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
        B
than the sun

[Outro]
            C#m B
So if by the time the bar closes

This is actually perfect for the live acoustic version, (you can find that on youtube, /watch?v=FQLGhPHzxjc) there's only two things that I could see that were missing, one was the transition between the E and the C#m, where he plays the E, then E at the fourth fret, and then a barre chord (not sure of name, tabbing it in) THEN the C#m. So it goes like this (relative to capo)

E E ? C#m
0 -0 -4 -4
0 -5 -4 -5
1 -4 -4 -6
2 -7 -6 -6
2 -8 -6 -4
0 -0 -4 -4

There's also another transition but I haven't caught it yet. If I find it I'll post. Great tab.

I know what is between the E and the C#m
You've got:
E E(6th fret) Am(5th fret) C#m
0 0 0 4
0 0 5 5
1 6 6 6
2 7 6 6
2 7 0 0
0 0 0 0

The E on the 6th fret is on the we from we are young, and the Am(5th fret) is on the are. And then the C#m on young.
That's how they play it in this song:

Uhmm and whatelse I do, is by sun, first the E and than de B. But that's just how I like it :)
