I just got this on my mp3 and I love it

Tuning:Standard
The main notes are E4, A4, A2, and E2.

Intro (play soft. You need to hear the guitar)

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A|-----------2-2-------------------------2-2-----2---------------------------
E|--4-4---------------2---------4-4---------------2--------------------------

Verse/ Main Riff (play harder and louder [still quiet])One variation

G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A|-----------2---------------4------------2---------------4------------------ x2
E|--4-----------------2-----------4---------------2--------------------------

Chorus (grunge the hell out!! Hard as you want!)
(you can slide at the beginning if you want)
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A|------------------2---2----4---4----1--1-1---------------------------------- x4
E|--------4---4----------------------------------------------------------------
(back to verse)
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A|-----------2---------------4-------------2---------------4------------------- x2
E|--4----------------2-----------4---------------2-----------------------------
 (back to chorus)
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A|-------------------2---2----4---4----1--1-1--------------------------------- x4
E|---------4---4--------------------------------------------------------------
  Bridge
G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
D|---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A|------------------------4--4--4--4--4---------------------------------------- x4
E|----2--2--2--2--2--2--------------------4--4--4--4--4--4--4--4---------------

That's pretty much it! All you need to do now is repeat the verse 2 times
(play soft then louder the second time), then to the chorus and then the verse 1 last time
and that's the whole song. Stay grunge
Rock on, Staind!

the notes you are using are correct, but they need to be played an octave lower. most staind songs are played on a five string which is tuned (low to high) g# c# g# c# f#.
