...SUMMER SOFT... by Stevie Wonder
-----------------.................

*from 'Songs in the Key of Life' (1976)*

*CAPO 4th FRET*

(Original Key: F#)

Intro:

D

Verse 1:

D C#7 Cmaj7
Summer soft, wakes you with a kiss, to star the morning off.
F7b5 G
In the midst of herself playing Santa Claus,
           A9 D
She brings gifts... through her breeze.

D C#7 Cmaj7
Morning rain, gently plays her rhythms on your window pane.
F7b5 G
Giving you no clue of when she plans to change,
         A9 D
To bring rain, or sun-shine.

Bridge 1:

D C#7sus C#7
 And so you wait to see what she'll do;
      G9 F#sus
Is it sun or rain for you?
       G/A Em7 G/A Dmaj7 Cmaj7 Bm7 A#7
But it breaks your heart in two, when you find it's Oc -to -ber...

Chorus 1:

A7sus G#7b5 Gm7 C9 Gm7 C9
And she's gone, and she's gone.
         Dmaj7 G/A Dmaj7 Cmaj7 Bmaj7 Amaj7 G/A
Summer's gone, taking with her summer's play...

Verse 2:

D C#7 Cmaj7
Winter wind, whispers to you that he wants to be your friend.
F7b5 G
But not waiting for your answer, he begins,
        A9 D
Forcing dangers way with his breeze.

D C#7 Cmaj7
Morning snow, plans to have a winter ball for you to throw.
F7b5 G
But just where or when, he never lets you know,
        A9 D
If it's snow, or clear days you'll find.

Bridge 2:

D C#7sus C#7
 And so you wait to see what he'll do;
      G9 F#sus
Is it sun or snow for you?
       G/A Em7 G/A Dmaj7 Cmaj7 Bm7 A#7
But it breaks your heart in two, 'cos you've been fooled by Ap -ril...

Decent, some of the chords are a bit off though. Not exactly an easy song to tab either..

pretty good but some errors. chorus 1 starts at at a Bmaj in the original key then moves up a half step each time from there. Not an A7 sus
