[Verse]

Em A Bm Bm7
I don't drink coffee I take tea my dear
Em A Bm Bm7
I like my toast done on the side

Em A Bm Bm7
And you can hear it in my accent when I talk

       Em A Bm
I'm an Englishman in New York

Em A Bm Bm7
See me walking down Fifth Avenue
Em A Bm Bm7
A walking cane here at my side
Em A Bm Bm7
I take it everywhere I walk
Em A Bm Bm7
I'm an Englishman in New York

[Chorus]

Em A Bm Bm7
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
        Em A Bm
I'm an Englishman in New York
Em A Bm Bm7
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
        Em Bm
I'm an Englishman in New York

[Verse]

Em A Bm Bm7
If, "Manners maketh man" as someone said
Em A Bm Bm7
Then he's the hero of the day
Em A Bm Bm7
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
       Em A Bm
Be yourself no matter what they say

[Chorus]

Em A Bm Bm7
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
        Em A Bm
I'm an Englishman in New York
Em A Bm Bm7
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
        Em Bm
I'm an Englishman in New York

[Bridge]

D A A7
Modesty, propriety can lead to not oriety
Bm Bm7 F
You could end up as the only one
 G A
Gentleness, sobriety are rare in this society
   G Bm
At night a candle's brighter than the sun

[Verse]

Em A Bm Bm7
Takes more than combat gear to make a man
Em A Bm Bm7
Takes more than a license for a gun
Em A Bm Bm7
Confront your enemies, avoid them when you can
       Em A Bm
A gentleman will walk but never run

Em A Bm Bm7
If, "Manners maketh man" as someone said
Em A Bm Bm7
Then he's the hero of the day
Em A Bm Bm7
It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile
       Em A Bm
Be yourself no matter what they say

[Chorus]

Em A Bm Bm7
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
        Em A Bm
I'm an Englishman in New York
Em A Bm Bm7
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien
        Em Bm
I'm an Englishman in New York

this is nice :) for those who want to play it - these chors are perfect you just need to play them on the 5th fret for A and 7th fret for Em, Bm and Bm7 that't the way it's played live anyway.cheers

the right chord of the part 'the only one' is F# instead of F.
