- indicates a half bar

Sounds best (like alot of ska(ok, ish, strictly) played up around the 8th fret using bar chords.

[Pattern I]
C                               G
When you were born you were not alone
                            F
Nothing was carved into the stone

Quiet [?] but don't forget
     C                      G                  C
You heard someone say it won't get better than this

That was the sound of your father
 G
As he held you up to your mother
F
No one will ever know
C                           G                      C
The love as pure as the one that you felt right then

C             G                Dm
They held you up, they held you up
     C                  G
And everybody else they fell to the wayside
C
This is the stuff of beginning
G
The prologue to the yarn that you're spinning
F                          C                          G
A million synonyms will never come close to describe the feeling

FFF                   CCC          G
     Dont ever leave cause if you do dear
        C                F
I guarantee that you’ll regret

The day you did
                C
And youll miss all the simple things
                F
And youll see everything you ever loved
       G                  F
Start fading till there's nothing left but dust
}

[Chorus]
{

C        G         F              G               C
And I believe that every broken bone is meant to be
             F               G
And when it heals it will be stronger than it was before
 C            G               F        G          C
And I see the things that I pretend that I don't see
  F                    G
And I store them in my head, love
G
If only for memories
}

[Same as I]
{
So now youre young and you feel alone
             F
Despite friends, family, and all the good things now surrounding you
You cant help thinking
Oh there's gotta be some more to do
When all the things that you cherish
Turn into burdens and there is
No other fantasy
You know what you gotta do but you don’t know how

They hold you back
They hold you down
And youre gonna feel bad but you know that you gotta get out
This is your pain your dilemma
Will you stay in the town that they raised you
Or will you sail away
Pull the anchor and go in for the [?] one day

You have to leave
Cause if you don’t dear
Youll never see the things you read about in books
You saw the films and you were hooked
But everything you want won’t come to you
And you realize now that you gotta go see this through
}

[Chorus x2]

Key:

These repeated chords indicate a triple downward strum:
"FFF"

A great album!

I think the Fs in the verses are Fm, but the ones in the chorus are still F. Also, pretty sure the lyric at:

Pull the anchor and go in for the [?] one day

is actually

Pull the anchor and go in for the come-what-may

Can somebody just fill in the parts that are the same as the first? It's frustrating when playing to have to look at the chords of the first verse but look to the lyrics of the second.
Thanks.

"Quiet [?]" is actually "quite yet..."
