SUGAR – HOOVER DAM
Tabbed by djg303

There's a version doing the rounds that's incomplete and only partly correct. This
sounds pretty close to me...

      B* A* E* F#* G5 C#* G#m* Dsus2

e-----0------0------0-------0-------3------0--------0--------0-----------|
b-----0------0------0-------0-------3------0--------0--------3-----------|
g-----4------4------4-------3-------0------6--------4--------2-----------|
d-----4------2------2-------4-------0------6--------6--------0-----------|
a-----2------0------2-------4-------X------4--------6--------X-----------|
e-----X------X------0-------2-------3------X--------4--------X-----------|

B* A* E*
Standing on the edge of the Hoover Dam
F#* E* F#*
I'm on the centre line, right between two states of mind
B* A* G5 F#* E* Dsus2 E*
And if the wind from the traffic should blow me away

F#* E* C#* B*
From this altitude, it will come back to you
G#m F#* B* E*
And do you know the time
F#* E* C#* B*
All that's left of me is slight insanity
E* Dsus2 A*
What's on the right I don't know

B* A* E*
If the Mississippi should wash me away
F#* E* F#*
Down to New Orleans, maybe someday in my dreams
B* A* G5 F#* E* Dsus2 E*
I'd wake feeling the sweat from the gulf in my mouth

F#* E* C#* B*
On a carousel I can never tell
G#m F#* B* E*
My direction home
F#* E* C#* B*
Spinning down a hole, I'm losing all control
E* Dsus2 A*
I'm down to the center of the earth

B* A* E*
Covered up with lava and I feel fine
F#* E* F#*
It washes over me and keeps me feeling warm at night
B* A* G5 F#* E*
And if you've made a deal with the guy with the horns and the cape
E*
I'll see you later, later

B* C#* E*
Standing on the edge of the Hoover Dam
B* C#* E* F#*
I am, I am , I am

B* C#* E*
Standing on the edge of the Hoover Dam
B* C#* E* F#*
I am, I am , I am

Great wok man. Really helped me out. However, I prefer playing an Asus2 instead of the A* chord suggested, and playing a regular E chord instead of the suggested chord works just fine as well. Don't know which is correct, but i find it easier to play those, and with the distortion on, no one's gonna notice the difference anyway. :P

Fantastic song.

Bob plays the E and A chords as above to maintain the "drone" effect created by the resonant B notes....it's a testament to the quality of the song that it can sound great with regular chords too....

Ah, okay. Sounds good to me. The regular chords are easier to play in my opinion though. And as you say, it's really a fantastic song either way. :)

Also, of course I meant that you had done some great work. Not wok. I know nothing about your culinary skills.
