"Late In the Day" by Supergrass
From the 1997 album In It for the Money

[Intro]
Dmaj7 Fmaj7 Am F Bb F Bb F D A

[Verse]
Dmaj7 Fmaj7
It's late in the day,
                Am
I'm thinking of you,
                    F
The things that you say,
Bb F Bm F D A
So long, so long for me
Dmaj7 Fmaj7
It's late in the day,
               Am
I'm talking to you,
            F
Hear what I say,
Bb F Bb F D A A7
So long, so long for me

[Chorus]
A Fmaj7
And all the time I thought of you
B7 D
In an ordinary way
         G A
Sit back down the hard way
A Fmaj7
And all I really have to say
B7
Is people pass along the way
                        C A7
Thoughts of you and me again....

[Verse]
Dmaj7 Fmaj7
I lay on my bed,
             Am
Searching my mind,
               F
I'm writing my love,
Bb F Bb F D A
So long, so long for me
Dmaj7 Fmaj7
I sleep on the road,
             Am
Dream of the sound,
          F
Coming my way,
Bb F Bb F D A A7
So long, so long for me

[Chorus]
A Fmaj7
And all the time I thought of you
B7 D
In an ordinary way
         G A
Sit back down the hard way
A Fmaj7
And all I really have to say
B7
Is people pass along the way
                        C C#
Thoughts of you and me again....

[Bridge]
Em Em7 C F#m D A
Em Em7 C F#m D A

[Solo]
Dmaj7 Fmaj7 Am F Bb F Bb D A
Dmaj7 Fmaj7 Am F Bb F Bb D A A7

[Chorus]
A Fmaj7
And all the time I thought of you
B7 D
In an ordinary way
         G A
Sit back down the hard way
A Fmaj7
And all I really have to say
B7 D
Is people pass along the way
           G
I close my eyes and turn away

[Chorus]
A Fmaj7
And all the time I think of you
B7 D
In an ordinary day
          G A
Trip back down the hard way
A Fmaj7
And all I really have to say
B7
Is people pass along the way
                        C A7 Dmaj7
Thoughts of you and me again....

It's pretty good but a couple of changes would make it near perfect, unfortunately I'm not 100% on the name of the chords but here's how I play it.
1, after the Am in the verses you need to make an open Am7 shape and slide up 2 frets (like a Bm7 but open strings if you know what i mean?!?).
2, in the chorus after playing Fmaj7 add an Fmaj9 then instead of playing a B7 play an Esus4? and miss out the D
3, in 2nd part of the chorus same E chord to an open G but hold 3rd fret on the D string & after the C (open) slide up 1 fret using the same shape so like some sort of a C# instead of the A7.
Long winded I know and looks more complicated than it is (or I wouldn't be able to play it)
