SOLITUDE STANDING (Suzanne Vega)
--------------------------------
Amsus2: x02200 Am(9): x05500 B5/A: x0440x
Am(9)/C: x35500 B5: x2440x
Amsus2/G: 302200 Amsus2/F:102200
C#m7: x46600 Bsus4: x24400

[Intro: 12 measures of Amsus2]

Amsus2 Amsus2
Solitude stands by the window
Amsus2 Amsus2
She turns her head as I walk in the room
      Amsus2 Amsus2
I can see by her eyes she's been waiting
Amsus2 Amsus2
Standing in the slant of the late afternoon
        Am(9) Am(9)
And she turns to me with her hand extended
    B5/A B5/A Amsus2 Amsus2
Her palm is split with a flower with a flame

Am(9)/C Am(9)/C B5 B5 Am(9)/C Am(9)/C B5 B5
[instrumental; melody is cdeGABcd eGABcdeG ABcdeGAB etc.]
Amsus2 Amsus2 Amsus2 Amsus2
[instrumental]

Solitude stands in the doorway
I'm struck once again by her black silhouette
By her long cool stare and her silence
I suddenly remember each time we've met
And she turns to me with her hand extended
Her palm is split with a flower with a flame
[12 bars of instrumental again]

Amsus2 Amsus2 Amsus2/G Amsus2/F
And she says, "I've come to set a twisted thing straight"
Amsus2 Amsus2 Amsus2/G Amsus2/F
And she says, "I've come to lighten this dark heart"
C#m7 C#m7 Bsus4 Amsus2
And she takes my wrist, I feel her imprint of fear
C#m7 C#m7 Bsus4 Amsus2
And I say, "I never thought of finding you here"

And I turn to the crowd as they're watching
They're sitting all together in the dark and the warm
And I wanted to be in there among them
I see how their eyes are gathered into one
And she turns to me with her hand extended
Her palm is split with a flower with a flame
[12 bars of instrumental again]

And she says, "I've come to set a twisted thing straight"
And she says, "I've come to lighten this dark heart"
And she takes my wrist, I feel her imprint of fear
And I say, "I never thought of finding you here"

Solitude stands in the doorway
I'm struck once again by her black silhouette
By her long cool stare and her silence
I suddenly remember each time we've met
And she turns to me with her hand extended
Her palm is split with a flower with a flame

[Fade out on repeated Am(9)/C & B5]

Decent work, but a couple things. To my knowledge there's no such thing as Amsus2. It's just Asus2. I think the verse maybe alternates between Asus2 and Am. Also not sure what's going on with the B5; I think there may be a Bmaj in there too. "And she says..." I think is Am, not Asus2.

It's not even Asus2. It's just A2. Because if you do a minor then a suspension, you're left with a major chord
