                           Setting Sun - Switchfoot
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Song: Setting Sun
Band: Switchfoot
Album: Nothing Is Sound
tabbed by: timm3125
Tuning: EADGBE (Standard)

This is another song from Switchfoot's new album Nothing Is Sound. This is one hell of
album and I highly recomend it. Anyway, this is my shot at the 7th song on the album,
Sun. Hope you enjoy it and by the way, please go ahead and rate it!

INTRO
e|-----------------------------|
B|-10x-10x-10x10x-10x10x-------|
G|--7x--7x--7x-7x--7x-7x-------|
D|--7x--7x--7x-7x--7x-7x-------|
A|-----------------------------|
E|-----------------------------|2x
MAIN RIFF: Comes in when Jon yells, "Hey!". Play 4x then go to the verse.
e|---------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------------------------------|
G|--4/6-6-4-2-0~--6/7-6-4-2--------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------4-5-4h5--4-5--4b-r4/2-0---------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------|

VERSE: The guitar is pretty quiet here and you palm mute all notes except for a couple
are unmuted. There isn't much of a pattern to the unmuted notes but you can hear it in
song if you want to get it down perfectly. Play though 2x.
e|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-7777777777777777------------------------------------7777777777777777---|
D|-7777777777777777--7777777777777777-5555555555555555-7777777777777777---|
A|-5555555555555555--7777777777777777-5555555555555555-5557755555555555---|
E|-------------------5555555555555555-3333333333333333--------------------|

PRECHORUS: "My hope runs underneath..."
e|-----------------|
B|-----------------|
G|-7~--------------|
D|-7~---7~---------|
A|-5~---7~---------|
E|------5~---------|

Chorus: I put this into barre chrods cuz I think it sounds best like that. If you dont
barre chords or just prefer power chords you can aslo play this by making the barre
into power chords. I think the power chords dont sound nearly as good but you can use um if you want.
   Play this through 2x.
    A      G      D    A             Power Chords:
e|-5555--33333--5555--5555-------| e|-----------------------|
B|-5555--33333--7777--5555-------| B|-----------------------|
G|-6666--44444--7777--6666-------| G|-----------7777--------|
D|-7777--55555--7777--7777-------| D|-7777-5555-7777-7777---|
A|-7777--55555--5555--7777-------| A|-7777-5555-5555-7777---|
E|-5555--33333--5555--5555-------| E|-5555-3333------5555---|

INTERLUDE: Played after the refrains ("Yeaaahh, Yeeeeaahhh..") and the main riff comes
in at this part. Also, the other guitar can keep playing the chords from the chorus
instead of changing to the A chord at the end of each time through, continue hitting D.
So it looks like this instead:
     A      G      D
e|--5555--33333--55555555----|
B|--5555--33333--77777777----|
G|--6666--44444--77777777----|
D|--7777--55555--77777777----|
A|--7777--55555--55555555----|
E|--5555--33333--55555555----|

e|---------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------------------------------|
G|--4/6-6-4-2-0~--6/7-6-4-2--------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------4-5-4h5--4-5--4b-r4/2-0---------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------|

BRIDGE: "Let the weak say I am strong..." Play until the next Chorus.
e|----------------------|
B|--555555--666666------|
G|--555555--666666------|
D|--555555--666666------|
A|--333333--444444------|
E|----------------------|

OUTRO: After the last Chorus you play the Interlude again as the Outro.
     A      G      D          End On: D
e|--5555--33333--55555555----||--5~-----|
B|--5555--33333--77777777----||--7~-----|
G|--6666--44444--77777777----||--7~-----|
D|--7777--55555--77777777----||--7~-----|
A|--7777--55555--55555555----||--5~-----|
E|--5555--33333--55555555----||--5~-----|

e|---------------------------------------------------------------|
B|---------------------------------------------------------------|
G|--4/6-6-4-2-0~--6/7-6-4-2--------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------4-5-4h5--4-5--4b-r4/2-0---------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------------------|

Rock On.

The intro sounds off, as does the verse. I think the chords are better.
