Hi.
I don't like playing this song in standard tuning as suggested by the other submissions, so I am
using the Drop D tuning.

If you are interested in learning the intro with a similar tuning, here is a fantastic tab explaining it:
https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/t/the_barr_brothers/even_the_darkness_has_arms_intro_tab.htm

The chords I'm adding are relevant after the intro. Enjoy.

      G G
I was holding my breath when the tightrope walker slipped into the moonglow
       Am G
Saying all my children follow me, maybe it's time to go
           D Em
You can be chrome when you're wise
           D G
You can be wise when you're blue
         D Em D G G
And baby if I have, then I have for you

G G
Bribing the jury to keep me in jail singing "Tea for the Tillerman"
    Am Am
And although I lie fantastically I swore an oath on my history
       Am G
It's a miracle I can see
           D Em
You can be wrong when you're right

         D Em D G G
And if I die tonight, then I die for you

G G
Calling on those that call me son, great-grandson, or grandson
      Am Am G
Great uncles, aunts and relatives to judge what I have done
           D Em
Gonna make right by you
             D G
Even if it's all I do
            D Em D G
And if it's all I do, then I do for you

G G
People will raise a whole lot of hell about the water and the wind-mill
       Am Am G
And although I stab chaotically it hurts no one but me
         D Em
Even the darkness has arms
         D G
But they ain't got you

Baby, I have it, and I have you too

      C G D G G
And a light in the window to pass the night through
       G Em D Cmaj7 Cmaj7
May be so uncertain but what can I do
G Cmaj7 G D D
Keeping it on, keeping it on
      G Em D Cmaj7 Cmaj7
And I know I like it but what does that prove
G D D G G
Sometimes I worry I don't know how to love you

     Am Am G
Kind woman that my passion wore like the shoreline wears the tides
          D Em
Maybe the water went dry

Keeping an eye on you
