London Calling - The Clash
Joe Strummer/Mick Jones/Paul Simonon/Topper Headon

[Intro: x4]
Em Fmaj9 Em Fmaj9

Em Fmaj9
London calling to the faraway towns
Em/G G
Now war is declared, and battle come down
Em Fmaj9
London calling to the underworld
Em/G G
Come out of the cupboard, you boys and girls
Em Fmaj9
London calling, now don't look to us
Em/G G
Phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust
Em Fmaj9
London calling, see we ain't got no swing
Em/G G
'Cept for the ring of that truncheon thing

[Chorus 1:]
Em G D
The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Em G D
Meltdown expected, the wheat is growing thin
Em G D
Engines stop running, but I have no fear
Em D
'Cause London is drowning, and I ~~~~~~~ live by the river

London calling to the imitation zone
Forget it, brother, you can go it alone
London calling to the zombies of death
Quit holding out, and draw another breath
London calling, and I don't wanna shout
But while we were talking, I saw you nodding out
London calling, see we ain't got no high
Except for that one with the yellowy eyes

[Chorus 2: x2]
The ice age is coming, the sun's zooming in
Engines stop running, the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
'Cause London is drowning, and I live by the river

Em Fmaj9 Em Fmaj9
Em Fmaj9 Em Fmaj9
                    Now get this

Em Fmaj9
London calling, yes, I was there, too
        Em Fmaj9
An' you know what they said? Well, some of it was true!
Em Fmaj9
London calling at the top of the dial
Em Fmaj9
After all this, won't you give me a smile?
Em Fmaj9 Em Fmaj9
London calling
Em
I never felt so much alike [fading] alike alike alike

For anyone finding Fmaj9 a bit tricky, C sounds pretty good as a substitute :)

Finally someone who sees they go back to Em in the verses... =)
To me a straight F sounds better than Fmaj9, and when Clash plays it I think they use

Em: 7 8 9 9 7 x
F: 8 10 10 10 8 x
Em: 7 8 9 9 7 x
G: 3 3 4 5 x x

in the verses. Great song! Cheers! =)
