If Only Tonight We Could Sleep

Tabbed by:elle
Email:el04@hotmail.com

Tuning:Standard

    A Ab
If only tonight we could sleep
      G Cm
In a bed made of flowers
    A Ab
If only tonight we could fall
        G Cm
In a deathless spell
    A Ab
If only tonight we could slide
      G Cm
Into deep black water
      A
And breathe
      Ab G Cm
And breathe...

         Fm
Then an angel would come
              Cm
With burning eyes like stars
     Fm
And bury us deep
         Cm
In his velvet arms

         A Ab
And the rain would cry
         G Cm
As our faces slipped away
         A Ab
And the rain would cry
              G Cm
Don't let it end...

Simple, just Play those Chords

All the tabs over the internet show the same pattern of chords for this song, which is actually not a bad way to play this song, but the cure actually uses an open Cm tuning (C G C G C D#) on the acoustic guitar, and they just use the 6th string for the tonic notes (which are A, G#, G and C though the whole song) and play the rest of the strings open. I was getting crazy as I couldn't get that sound on my guitar, and I saw a video and figured it out.
