----------------------------------------------------------------------

Intro: [Eadd9 - E+5] x2

Verse 1:
     Eadd9 E+5
Dear Avery, I think of you only
         Eadd9 E+5
Were you waiting, were you dead on the vine
   Eadd9 E+5
Oh Avery, I think of you lonely
             Eadd9 E+5
I could just grab you by the nape of your neck

Chorus 1:
          B A E
There are times life will rattle your bones and will bend your limbs
             B A E
You'll still find a way, the boy you've never been
       B A E
So you bend back, and shake at the frame of the frame you've made
A B A B E
Don't you shake alone, please Avery-y-y-y come home

Interlude: [Eadd9 - E+5] x2

Verse 2: [use verse 1 chords]
Headstrong, you and your long arms
Listing lazily on the cusp of your teeth
You were my Avery and when you needed saving
I could just grab you by the nape of your neck

Chorus 2: [use chorus 1 chords]
There are times life will rattle your bones and will bend your limbs
You'll still find a way, the boy you've never been
So you bend back, and shake at the frame of the frame you've made
Don't you shake alone, please Avery-y-y-y come home [don't you shake alone]
Please Avery-y-y-y come home

Outro: [Eadd9 - E+5], repeat as desired

the song is in capo 2, using Dsus2 for most of the verse with minor changes around that. check out the live version to watch it.

they also play a version of this song in the key of F with a capo on the 3rd fret. I just saw them play this live here in Portland and Colin definitely had a capo on the 3rd fret. Jenny even mentioned what key the song was in. I know Colin's played this song solo with a capo on the 2nd fret but the recorded version is with a capo on the 3rd fret.

i apologize for my giving you a low rating, but only because i apparently wasnt clear enough with my reasoning. when the album came out, it was in capo 3, not 2, so i guess i was wrong with that detail. but other than that, i disagree completely with your reaction. you can put the key into anything you want, but i expect tabs here to be of the original version, and then we can make whatever key changes we want. it's in capo 3, with drop D tuning. the two verse chords are Dsus2 and a Gm chord (000330) alternated. etc. the version 2 of this song is accurate on the chords, and even the lyrics that you messed up here. (it's not "You'll still find a way, the boy you've never been", that doesnt even make sense)
