Transcribed from keyboard. Played with fingers.

Tabs for chords used in intro and verse:
I've named the first three chords Part I, and the following four Part II in order to fit the lyrics.

  Part 1          Part II
 |---------|-----------------|
  C Am7 C/E C6/G Dm7b5 C/E  D7
e|x--x---x---5-----x----x---x|
B|5--6---8---5-----6----5---3|
G|5--5---5---5-----5----5---5|
D|5--7---5---5-----6----5---4|
A|3--5---7---x-----5----7---5|
E|x--x---x---x-----x----x---x|

Listen to the song to get the feel for it. I highly recommend memorising this voicing for the correct sound,
as the chord highlight suggestions are not very accurate. Part 1 shortens (I) and Part II (II).

Tabs for chords used on chorus and refrain:
 Cm7 Dm7b5 G  G7
e|x---x----3--3|
B|4---6----3--3|
G|3---5----4--4|
D|5---6----5--3|
A|3---5----5--5|
E|x---x----x--x|

G7 is only played at the end of the chorus.

Tabs for chords used on bridge:
 Am  Am/F
e|x---x--|
B|1---1--|
G|2---2--|
D|2---2--|
A|0---x--|
E|x---1--|

Nice one, Peter.You might be interested in my comments. I'm new to "tabbing", so I hope it's readable. Here are typical voicings that Michael McDonald and other keyboardists usually/often play. They shouldn't be too difficult on guitar for the guitarist who's keen enough to learn this kind of song.I've included "1e+a" to indicate sixteenth beats.Main sequence: a ||1 + 2 3 4 e a |1 + 2 3 4 e a || C-----F/A Cma7/B F6 Dm7b5--C/E D7b5 G6 C---e|-----||-----------------------1-|----0--------------0-----||B|---1-||---1-----1---------3---1-|----1----3---------0---1-||G|--(0)||--(2)----0---------2---1-|----0----5--------(0)-(0)||D|---2-||---3----(x)--------3---0-|----2----4--------(3)--2-||A|---3-||---0-----2---------------|--------(x)-------(x)--3-||E|-----||-------------------------|---------4---------3-----||The x's in brackets are muffled strings if you were strumming the chord.The numbers is brackets are optional chord tones that I think sound ok if you wanted to strum the chord. If you don't want to sound them, just muffle them.On the keyboard, the bass notes of all the chords (except F/A, Cma7/B and G6) would be an octave lower (which obviously can't be played on a standard-tuned guitar); however, playing them on the guitar an octave higher, as written, is a reasonable substitute.Keyboard lick at the 3rd beat of the 2nd bar of the main sequence: 3 e + a 4 e a | C-- e|-5---------------|B|-4-5-----------1-|G|-----5-3------(0)|D|---------4-3---2-|A|---------------3-|E|-----------------|Cheers,John

Hmm, I don't know what happened when I pasted my comment - it seems to have no carriage returns. I did type them in my text editor (Notepad++).

And I can't edit it!

Nice one, Peter. Thanks for writing this up.

You might be interested in my comments. I'm new to "tabbing", so I hope it's readable.

Here are typical voicings that Michael McDonald and other keyboardists usually/often play for this song. They shouldn't be too difficult on guitar for the guitarist who's keen enough to learn this kind of song.

I've included "1e+a" to indicate sixteenth beats.

Main sequence:
a ||1 + 2 3 4 e a |1 + 2 3 4 e a ||
C-----F/A Cma7/B F6 Dm7b5--C/E D7b5 G6 C---
e|-----||-----------------------1-|----0--------------0-----||
B|---1-||---1-----1---------3---1-|----1----3---------0---1-||
G|--(0)||--(2)----0---------2---1-|----0----5--------(0)-(0)||
D|---2-||---3----(x)--------3---0-|----2----4--------(3)--2-||
A|---3-||---0-----2---------------|--------(x)-------(x)--3-||
E|-----||-------------------------|---------4---------3-----||

The x's in brackets are muted strings if you were strumming the chord. The numbers in brackets are optional chord tones that I think sound ok if you wanted to strum the chord. If you don't want to sound them, they could be muted.

On the keyboard, the bass notes of all the chords (except F/A, Cma7/B and G6) would be an octave lower (which obviously can't be played on a standard-tuned guitar); however, playing them on the guitar an octave higher, as written here, is a reasonable substitute.

Keyboard lick at the 3rd beat of the 2nd bar of the main sequence:
3 e + a 4 e a |
C--
e|-5---------------|
B|-4-5-----------1-|
G|-----5-3------(0)|
D|---------4-3---2-|
A|---------------3-|
E|-----------------|

Cheers,
John
