D G E D G E D

VERSE 1

D G E D
I got your letter it had turned to sand,
          G E D
Lighting strikes the postman in his hand,

CHORUS

D G D G
I hope that you remember the things you had to say,
           E G D
It's just a supernatural delay

VERSE 2

D G E D
I got yer package it was all a mess,
           G E D
Lightning strikes the postman in his chest

CHORUS

D G D G
I hope that you remember the things you had to say,
           E G D
It's just a supernatural delay
D G E D
I sent you a postcard and I hope yer fine
                      G E D
But lightning strikes the postman all the time

CHORUS

D G D G
I couldn't really think of anything to say,
           E G D
It's just a supernatural delay

OUTRO

             E G D E G
And it's hard to read the writing through the flames

Just putting it out there.
This is my fav song of all time, (next to beercan by bek)I am breaking apart the
"lighting strikes the postman" Cd that came out. If you have not heard it yet, I recommend that you do. Its a trip.
With that said, it is hard to make out every thing that is going on, Ron's playing colors a lot and sends the simple key of D into a funhouse of effects, more notably the pitch shifter going high and low.
Intro: D G
Verse: D G E A
Chorus: D G
Resolve: E G D
Bridge: A G , A Ab F# A , G (?) A D (ring)

Last resolve hits the D an octave up.

Note: Try it with Open D tuning or Drop G and a brass slide. An a american 25 cent piece ,and effects you can only get on a semi-habitable planet some where in the universe.
