Main riff
e [----5----4----2----0-----|
B [----5----5----2----0-----|
G [----6----6----2----1-----|
D [----7----4----4----2-----|
A [----7----7----4----2-----|
E [----5----4----2----0-----|
       A G#? F#m E

Brian apparently only plays two string power chords (EA), even on an acoustic... This
way is better (imho), providing you can hit the G#? thing.

It is technically a G#/E if you are wondering.

sp(30)

[Chorus]
A G#? F#m E A
G#? F#m E
You are water twelve feet deep and I am boots made of concrete
                A G#?
We'll wear cool clothes that show some skin,
          F#m E
Flash our fakes, we'll both get in
          A G#?
Now we're dancing, we're so drunk
          F#m E
We are so cool, we are so punk

    D A, G#?, F#m, E
And yes, we can keep living like this.
   D A, G#?,
F#m, E
As long as you're here I will live like this.

[Verse]
E
Since when did...
                  F#m D A
Since when did "I wanna hear your voice" not become a good excuse?
        F#m D A
Calling you three in the morning, laugh at sleep that we'll both lose
      F#m D A
Maybe college won't work out, I can come live at your house
       F#m D A
I'm supposed to be at class now but my roommate just passed out
        F#m D A
And I cannot get in my room, get all my books and what I need
             F#m D A
You're all I need but I am pretty sure your parents will never see
            F#m D A
I'll let it be, 'cause it was never meant to be
            F#m D A
I'll let it be.

[Chorus]
A G#? F#m E A
G#? F#m E
You are water twelve feet deep and I am boots made of concrete
                A G#?
We'll wear cool clothes that show some skin,
          F#m E
Flash our fakes, we'll both get in
          A G#?
Now we're dancing, we're so drunk
          F#m E
We are so cool, we are so punk

    D A, G#?, F#m, E
And yes, we can keep living like this.
   D A, G#?,
F#m, E
As long as you're here I will live like this.

[Verse]
E
I get left out...
                  F#m D
I get left out of every plan they make
        A
That is what I have to do
       F#m D A
Be the only kid from high school who is still in love with you
      F#m D A
Maybe college won't work out, I can come live at your house
       F#m D A
I'm supposed to be at class now but my roommate just passed out
        F#m D A
And I cannot get in my room, get all my books and what I need
             F#m D A
You're all I need but I am pretty sure your parents will never see
            F#m D A
I'll let it be, 'cause it was never meant to be
            F#m D A
I'll let it be.

[Chorus]
A G#? F#m E A
G#? F#m E
You are water twelve feet deep and I am boots made of concrete
                A G#?
We'll wear cool clothes that show some skin,
          F#m E
Flash our fakes, we'll both get in
          A G#?
Now we're dancing, we're so drunk
          F#m E
We are so cool, we are so punk

    D A, G#?, F#m, E

You're right about Brian playing the power chords on acoustic. It's weird, but still cool. Tab's perfect

An easier way to play the E/G# if you're having trouble with it but don't want to just play a power chord would be:

E-4
