[Verse 1]

E* B C#
Have you seen my hands?
                                  Eb
Just look at 'em shake.
E* B C#
And the song just keeps on repeating,
                                  Eb
Drop the needle again.
E* B C#

Let her go, let somebody else lay at her feet."

[Verse 2]
(same as Verse 1)

Have you seen my heart,
Have you seen how it bleeds?
And the nights are so long, baby,
Out here in the deep.
The tick, ticking of hours, lonely.
I hear the alarm
I used to hear when she would sleep in my arms.
But "better sense" says...
"Hey hey, turn the record over.

[Chorus 2]
(chorus 1 chords)

Hey hey, and I'll see you on the flip side.
There you go, turn the key and engine over.
Let her go, let somebody else lay at her feet."
And all my friends say,
"Hey hey, turn the record over.
Hey hey, and I'll see you on the flip side.
There you go, turn the key and engine over.
Let her go, let somebody else lay at her feet."

What's the point of tuning it a step down if you're just going to capo it anyway? Why not just leave it in standard?

"Why not just leave it in standard?" Ask Brian Fallon/the Gaslight Anthem.
The capo on 1 raises the key a half step, which coupled with D-standard makes E flat.
Still doesn't make sense, but makes more so than raising it to standard.

I think the reason it says D standard with a capo on the first fret is because Gaslight tune to D standard, so that would be how they play it.
