[Verse]

C E7
I stood alone, upon the platform in vain

                                       F
Puerto Ricans they were playing me salsa in the rain
                                C
With open doors and manual locks
       F G F C
In fast food parking lots

C E7
I headed West, I was a man on the move

New York had lied to me, I needed the truth
           F C
Oh, I need somebody, needed someone I could trust
         F G F C
I don't gamble, but if I did I would bet on us

[Chorus]

C
Like the Dead Sea
                             F
You told me I was like the Dead Sea
                                Am
You'll never sink when you are with me
      G F C
Oh Lord, like the Dead Sea
C
Whoa, I'm like the Dead Sea
                             F
The nicest words you ever said to me
                  Am
Honey can't you see,
             G F C
I was born to be, be your Dead Sea

[Verse] (same chords as 1st verse)

You told me you were good at running away
Domestic life, it never suited you like a suitcase
You left with just the clothes on your back
You took the rest when you took the map

Yes, there are times we live for somebody else
Your father died and you decided to live
It for yourself you felt, you just felt it was time
And I'm glad, cause you with cats, that's just not right

[Chorus] (same chords as 1st chorus)

I been down, I been defeated
You're the message I was heeding
Would you stay,
Would you stay the night?

Dead Sea,
Told me I was like the Dead Sea
Never sink when you are with me
Oh Lord, I'm your Dead Sea

Whoa, I'm like the Dead Sea
The finest words you ever said to me
No need to move your feet so quickly
Oh Lord, I'm your Dead Sea

Good, but you have bridge wrong: Should be like this
Am
I been down, I been defeated
F
You're the message I was heeding
D
Would you stay,
G
Would you stay the night?

or even better, like this:

I been down, I been defeated
Am G F
You're the message I was heeding
F E7 D
Would you stay,
G
Would you stay the night?

quick chord changes between the main notes as you go down the scale is how i hear it :)

The E7 that's in the verse, sounds a bit nicer as a C augmented chord. I'm pretty sure that's what he plays in the recording. (At least he's playing something with a C in it.)
