This is played with the Capo on the 5th fret
Yes I know unusual but it sounds the same.
It also uses easier chords so that's a bonus for you beginners

[Verse]

G C G
I've been trying to do it right
G C G
I've been living the lonely life
G C G
I've been sleeping here instead
G C Em
I've been sleeping in my bed
Em D G
I've been sleeping in my bed

[Verse]

G C G
So show me family
G C G
And all the blood that I will bleed
G C G
I don't know where I belong
G C Em
I don't know where I went wrong
Em D G
But I can write a song.

[Chorus]

              Em D G
I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart
              Em D G
I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweet

[Verse]

G C G
I don't think you're right for him
G C G
Think of what it might've been if you
G C G
Took a bus to Chinatown
G C Em
I'd be standing on Canal...and Bowery
Em D G
And she'd be standing next to me

[Chorus]

              Em D G
I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart
              Em D G
I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweet

[Bridge]

      C D
And love, we need it now
       C D
Let's hope for some
      C D
Cuz oh, we're bleeding out

[Chorus]

              Em D G
I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweetheart
              Em D G
I belong with you, you belong with me, you're my sweet

I would still classify myself as a beginner, but this sounds a bit off and is harder to play than the others.

This is a great way to back up another guitarist playing an open chord version. I've played this live a few times like this and it's awesome. Alternate picking and strumming (especially quite near the bridge OR over thirteenth fret or so) to really add some nice textures.

I like this, I play it with the capo on the 1st fret were It suits my voice.
