Many of the songs from On the Impossible Past can be played with ease in standard
turning, with a capo on the first fret. All of these chords work if you go up one fret.

    G Em C D
I remember you well at the Sun Hotel
              G Em
Where we were waiting impatiently
      C D
For a decent night's sleep

Interlude: G Em C D (2x)

               G Em
It's like I've landed in the rubble of my past life
      C D
And I never seem to board a return flight
         G Em
From the shame, the fear, the guilt that's tough to mention
    C D G
The kind that always pry your eyelids open

G
And I'm pretty sure this corner of the world
G Em G
Is the loneliest corner in the whole world
G
Maybe it's me or the bartender
G Em G
This Budweiser or the other customers
          Em C Em C
When all eyes are glued on the 6:00 news
            Em C D
For another fire and another impending news season

         G Em
And I'll leave you alone, I will leave you alone
       C D
I will leave you alone, and you will leave me alone
       G Em
And I'll leave you alone, I will leave you alone
       C D
I will leave you alone, and you will leave me alone

Interlude: G Em C D (2x)

    G Em C D
I remember you well at the Sun Hotel
              G Em
Where we were waiting impatiently
      C D
For a decent night's sleep

    G Em C D
I remember you well at the Sun Hotel
              G Em
Where we were running out of money
              C D
Where we were grinding down our teeth

Outro("Oh"): G Em C D repeated...

So to further clarify the OP - if you were to play along with these chord shapes to sound like the record, standard tuning with a capo on the first fret. The Menzingers tune a half step down and play this in A, so you could tune down a half step and transpose this up two semitones. Also, the correction above is accurate. Otherwise, good tab
