*Capo on 6th Fret (Chords are relative to capo)
Figuring out the chords helped me to figure out a lot of the complex guitar picking patterns

G C
The shatter of the bottles would scare me somethin' awful as a kid
G C
My fear, how it would harden and find home in places that I hid

CHORUS:

Am
I'd tear 'em down
D
I'd run away
Am
Never found
    Cmaj7
My getaway

G C
Outside Tuscaloosa, the time you thought you'd turn it all around
G C
Remember how you used to think, you could salvage anything you found

CHORUS
Am
you knew it then
D
you know it now
Am
rattle chains
             Cmaj7
still rattles loud

BRIDGE:
C
and all those years of movin'
Am D G
I was slowly losin' all my name
C Am D Cmaj7
no matter what I ruined it couldn't hold a candle to the pain

Ooo Ooo

CHORUS:
Am
My tears are real
D
and all my own
Am
pourin' down
          Cmaj7
their awful low

G C
The soft roll of the water reminds me of my father's parting words
G C
Son now don't you bother lookin' for your place out in the world

CHORUS:
Am
the tidal roll
D
through the waves
Am
son you'll find
       Cmaj7
your getaway

I think there's a chord missing on the Ooo Ooo part.

The lyrics are wrong in several places:

The shatter of the bottles would scare me something awful as a kid
My fear, how it would harden and find a home in places that I hid
I'd tear 'em down and run away
But never found my getaway

Outside Tuscaloosa, the time you thought you'd turned it all around
Remember how you used to think you could salvage anything you found
You knew it then, you know it now
A rattled chain still rattles loud

In all those years of moving, I was slowly losing all my names
No matter what I'd ruin, it couldn't hold a candle to the pain
My tears are real and all my own
Pouring down there all alone

The soft roll of the water reminds me of my father's parting words
"Son, now don't you bother looking for your place out in the world"
"The tide will roll through the waves,
Son, you'll find your getaway"
