After much searching and many awful attempts at 'playing by ear',
I've cobbled together some chords for this great little tune by The Passions.

There's a lovely article about it on their website too: http://www.thepassions.co.uk/german_film_star.html

Sounds great on my ukulele but works for other instruments too. Have fun!

For the intro I just play the chords G E B a few times.

        G
I'm in love with a German film star
   E
I once saw in a bar
B
Sitting in a corner in imperfect clothes
G
trying not to pose
                    E
For the cameras and the girls
                 B
It's a glamorous world

        G
I'm in love with a German film star
   E
I once saw in a movie
B G
Playing the part of a real troublemaker But I didn't care
         E
It really moved me
         B
it really moved me

G E B G E B etc

        G
I'm in love with a German film star

Outro:
      B
I'm in love
                   G
I'm in love, I'm in love
                   E

                   B

Thanks for this tab and reminding me of this overlooked atmospheric 80's gem, very much of it's era. Kinda reminds me of Altered Images sound too.You said you play this on your uke, but just a suggestion for guitar:it sounds like they have the top two strings ringing open through the chord changes, so I would play this moveable chord pattern instead- Badd11 (799800), G6(355400), and then the standard E (022100)
