E F# G#m G#m7 (x3)

G#m
It's been a while since the two of us talked
G#m7
About a week since the day you walked
E
Knowing things would never be the same

With your empty heart and mine full of pain

G#m G#m7
So explain to me, how it came to this

Take it back to the night we kissed
          E
It was Dublin city on a Friday night
            F# G#m7
You were vodkas and coke, I was Guinness all night

G#m
We were sitting with our backs against the world
                                     E
Saying things that we thought but never heard
   F#
Who would have thought it would end up like this?

G#m
Where everything we talked about is gone
G#m7 F#
And the only chance we have of moving on

Is try to take it back
                      E
   Before it all went wrong

           F# G#m
Before the worst, before we mend
           G#m7
Before our hearts decide
                   E
It's time to love again
           F# G#m
Before too late, before too long
                     G#m7
Let's try to take it back
                   G#m
Before it all went wrong

G#m
There was a time, that we'd stay up all night
G#m7
Best friends talking till the daylight
E
Took the joys alongside the pain

With not much to loose, but so much to gain

G#m G#m7
Are hearing me? Cause I don't wanna miss,

Set you a drift on memory bliss
          E
It was Grafton Street on a rainy night (ooh)
         F# G#m7
I was down on one knee and you were mine for life

G#m
We were sitting with our backs against the world
                                     E
Saying things that we thought but never heard
   F#
Who would have thought it would end up like this?

G#m
Where everything we talked about is gone
G#m7 F#
And the only chance we have of moving on

Is try to take it back
                      E
   Before it all went wrong

E F# G#m
Before the worst, before we mend
           G#m7
Before our hearts decide
                   E
It's time to love again
           F# G#m
Before too late, before too long
                     G#m7
Let's try to take it back
                   G#m
Before it all went wrong

E G#m
If the clouds don't clear
                 F#
Then we'll rise above it, we'll rise above it whoa
E G#m
Heaven's gate is so near
               F#
Come walk with me through

Just like we use to, just like we use to yeah

E F# G#m G#m7
             Yeah

E F#

                     F#
Let's try to take it back
                   E
Before it all went wrong

E F# G#m
Before the worst, before we mend
           G#m7
Before our hearts decide
                   E
It's time to love again
           F# G#m
Before too late, before too long
                     G#m7
Let's try to take it back
                   G#m
Before it all went wrong (it all went wrong)

E F# G#m G#m7 (x2)

E F#
Let's try to take it back
                   E
Before it all went wrong.

Too complicate for such a simple song..

If you transpose this up one half step, it's less complicated, and I think it's the right chords.

i think that version 3 sounds way better i played both with the song and 3 sounded way cleaner with it plus it is easier to play
