Ab Db Eb Db Ab

[Verse 1]
Ab
Why don't you ever wanna play?
Db
I'm tired of this piece of string
Eb
You sleep as much as I do now,
        Db Ab
and you don't eat much of anything

Ab
I don't know who you're talking to
Db
I made a search through every room
Eb
but all I found was dust that moved
    Db Ab
with shadows of the afternoon

[Chorus]
Ab Db
And listen, about those bitter songs you sing
            Bbm
they're not helping anything
           Db Ab
they won't make you strong

[Verse 2]
Ab
So we should open up the house
Db
invite the tabby two doors down
Eb
You could ask your sister if
Db Ab
she doesn't bring her basset hound

Ab
Ask the things you shouldn't miss
Db
tape hiss and the modern man
Eb
cold war and card catalogues
Db Ab
to come join us if they can

Ab
For girly drinks and parlor games
Db
we'll pass around the easy lie
Eb
of absolutely no regrets
Db Ab
and later maybe you could try

Ab
To let your losses dangle off
Db
the sharp edge of a century
Eb
We'll talk about the weather
   Db Ab
or how the weather use to be

[Chorus 2]
Ab Db
And I'll cater, with all the birds that I can kill
          Bbm Db
let their tiny feathers fill disappointment
Ab Db
Lie down, and lick the sorrow from your skin
            Bbm Db Ab
Scratch the terror and begin to believe you're strong

[Final verse]
Ab Bbm Cm Db
All you ever want to do is drink and watch TV
Fm Eb Db
frankly that thing doesn't really interest me
Ab Bbm Cm Db
I swear I'm going to bite you hard and taste your tinny blood
Fm Eb Db Cm
if you don't stop the self-defeating lies you've been repeating
          Db
since the day you brought me home
              Ab
I know you're strong.

Great tab! Thanks for uploading. The old one was close but not perfect. To make it easy I play this in G with a capo on the first fret (transpose down one semitone). Also, I'm nearly positive that the D chord (if you transpose, if not then the D#) in the intro and between verses is actually an F (F# if you don't transpose) - it is technically out of key, but it's the flat major 7 in the key of G, I believe (i'm not too well-versed in music theory, but I know there's a name for it).
