| I Fought Piranhas |
| Words and Music by Jack White |
| Tabbed by Donkey Fly |
 -----------------------------------

Open E Tuning
E B E G# B E

OR

Open D Tuning
D A D F# A D capo 2nd fret
Like in Suzy Lee, Jack plays rhythm guitar behind Johnny Walker, who plays slide. Jack
is playing in Standard tuning. During breaks I combined both guitars into one part for
simplicity, so pay attention to the tuning changes.

INTRO:
SLIDE RIFF (Johnny):
 E|--------12-12/------3-0------|
 B|--10/12----12----------------|
G#|--10/12----------------------|
 E|-----------------------------|
 B|-----------------------------|
 E|---------------3-2------3-2--|

Over SLIDE RIFF (Jack):
E|---------(3)-5/7-0--|
B|--------------------|
G|--------------------|
D|--------------------|
A|--------------------|
E|-0-3b--0------------|

VERSE 1: (SLIDE RIFF, with 0-3b--0 from Jack's guitar)
Well, I hold the rope
And I hold the sail
And I kept my papers
To keep from land' in jail
And I fought piranhas
And I fought the cold
There was no one with me
               G5 F#5
I was all alone, yeah

BREAK 1:

what is it with white stripes

that makes people feel the need to do some whacko tuning

there's no point to tuning it to an open E chord, or D tuning with a capo. all it does is make you play open strings instead of an E chord. what's the point. unnecessarily complicated

I love this song

and this tab isn't wrong and stuff

just unnecessarily complicated
