I know I'm missing two chords in the bridge section, but this is a much more
accurate representation than any version I've seen on here.

Verse 1

E
There's a girl back I used to know,
                                                          B
who cried herself to sleep every night.

we all knew.

we all knew.
E
The only girl who would ever compromise,
                                                                 B
strike a deal with the devil to save a night.

we all knew.

we all knew.
E
She tried to call me a month ago,
                                                        B
to sing me a song that she just wrote.

but I wasn't home,
                                         G#m
I should've known that time had taken it's toll.

she had no place to go,
       Eb
they found her body,

resting by the river.

Chorus:
G#m E
Oh
                               B
I never said goodbye.
Eb G#m
I wish I would have tried.
E B
I couldn't hear her cries, as she filled her veins with lies,
Eb E
until she saw the light.

Verse 2:
E
I remember we would hide behind the trees,
                                                                             B
smoking cigarettes until our throats would bleed.

Those were the days.

Those were the days.

E
Never scared, never worried that the summer would end.

Invincible to every short bend.
B
We drove so fast,

thought it would last.
       G#m
but time had taken had taken it's toll,
E
she had no place to go.
        Eb
They found her body resting by the river.

Repeat Chorus:

Bridge:
G#m
Madeline.

Madeline.
B
You will be remembered.
G#m
Madeline.

Madeline.
B
We still have September.
G#m
Madeline.

Madeline.
B C#m Eb
We'll see you on the other side.

G#m
If I could turn back time,
E B
I'd find a way to remind you
                                            Eb G#m
that somehow you could try to give in and fight the good fight
E B
oh you didn't have to die,
                                              Eb
you filled your veins with lies,

My Precious Madeline

E , B

Good tab. A couple suggestions:
There's a chord that is used in the third line of the first verse and the bridge, but I don't know what it's called, so I'll tab it out for you

I'll call that chord... e9, just to make something up for it. So I think the bridge then goes:
E9
Madeline.
E9
Madeline.
Abm B
You will be remembered.

I think you've got all the rest of it right, so good job.
