I first heard this song on youtube, from a clip on the Monkees TV show. I wanted to
it but I couldn't find a decent enough tab, so I did it myself. This is my first tab, so I
apriciate some feed back and possibly some of the picking patterns.
Email me at gazzaday@aol.com if you have any suggestions about this tab.

Capo 2nd Fret, Standard Tuning

C(9):E-0- G/B:E-0-
     B-3- B-3-
     G-0- G-0-
     D-0- D-0-
     A-3- A-2-
     E-x- E-x-

[Verse 1]

D A
Long afloat on shipless oceans,
G Bm
I did all my best to smile
D A
'Til your singing eyes and fingers
G Bm
Drew me loving to your isle.
D C(9)
And you sang, "Sail to me,
G/B D
Sail to me, let me unfold you."
Bm A G
Here I am, here I am waiting to hold you.

[Verse 2]

D A
Did I dream you dreamed about me?
G Bm
Were you hare when I was fox?
D A
Now my foolish boat is leaning,
G Bm
Broken, lovelorn on your rocks.
D C(9)
For you sing, "Touch me not,
G/B D
Touch me not, come back tomorrow."
Bm A G
Oh my heart, oh my heart shies from the sorrow.

[Verse 3]

D A
I'm as puzzled as the oyster,
G Bm
I'm as troubled as the tide
D A
Should I stand amid the breakers?
G Bm
Or should I lie with death my bride?
D C(9)
Hear me sing, "Swim to me,
G/B D
Swim to me, let me enfold you."
Bm A G
Oh my heart, oh my heart is waiting to hold you.

Intro should go like this:

+there are some notes played along with the chords, but it's good anyway

In the live version of the song it's apparently seen that Buckley plays with the capo on 3rd fret, not second. But anyway, I'm not sure if it is on 3rd on studio version too. :) Maybe it's correct.

Actually, the original poster is correct (aside from some omitted notes). The A on the E string 5th fret is not played but is sounded by the octave string doubling of the 12 string guitar.

You may want to rate the tab now too:
