Hey, you're pretty close on this but if I could make a couple suggestions.

First try using a "D" chord in place of the "Bm" on the verses, followed by the "C" chord. Example:
D C
His dad looked down and smiled,
D C
Said, "We can't leave her behind
Am G
Son I know you don't want her to go
C D
Someday you'll change your mind."

Also, you should put the chords directly above the words or places that the chord changes. It makes it much easier to read. Example:

G Am D
Take any boy in the world -- Daddy, please
G
Don't take the girl.

Not bad for a first attempt though.

Oops, that's not how I originally posted it. The chords should be as follows...
D - over "His", C - over "down", D - over "Said", C - over "behind", Am - over "Son", G - over "want", C - over "Someday", D - over "mind"

G - over "Take", Am - over "world", D - over "please", G - over "girl"
