"It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference"
                            (Todd Rundgren)

Intro:

[chorus chord progression; wordless vocals enter 2nd time]:

	E/A A E/A A /G# E/F# F#m D D/E [2X]
	 / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

Verse 1:

	E/A A E/A A /G#
	Do you remember
	    E/F# F#m E/F# F#m
	The last time I said
	      /E A/D D A/D D
If I ever thought of lying
	    /C# A/B Bm
I'd rather think of dying instead
	    D/E
	And maybe you remember

	    E/A A E/A A /G#
The last time you called me
	   E/F# F#m E/F# F#m
	To say we were through
	        /E A/D D A/D D
How it took a million tears
	         /C# A/B Bm
Just to prove they all were for you
	           D Em D
But those days are through 'cause

Chorus:

	    E/A A E/A A
It wouldn't have made any difference
	/G# E/F# F#m
	If you loved me
	 D D/E
	How could you love me
	        E/A A E/A A
When it wouldn't really make any difference
	/G# E/F# F#m
	If you really loved me
	[1, 2]: D D/E
You just didn't love me [1: 'cause]
	[3, 4]: D Em D
You just did not love me 'cause

Verse 2:

	I know of hundreds
	Of times I could be
	In the most unfaithful arms
	That you always picture me
	And maybe you remember that

	Though I can't always
	Show proof I was true
No one else could change my mind
Or stop me coming home to you
But those days are through 'cause

[repeat chorus]

Bridge:

	G/D D/A A
Enough to believe me (enough to believe me)
	G/D D/A A
Enough not to leave me (enough not to leave me)
	G/D D/A
	Enough not to look for
	  C#m F#m
	A reason to be
	   C#m F#m
	Unhappy with me
	     Bm C#m D D/E [N.C.]
And make me regret ever wanting you
	           D Em D
But those days are through 'cause

[repeat chorus 2X; fade]

tom middleton is the version that I am familiar with... and love todd rundgren... I saw him in Buenos Aires with Ringo Starr... Todd's clothes and guitar were the same green.
