The Power of Orange Knickers
by Tori Amos
from "The Beekeeper"

B
The power of orange knickers
the power of orange knickers
the power of orange knickers
G#m
under my petticoat
C#m F#
the power of listening to what you don't want me to know

B G#m
Can somebody tell me now who is this terrorist
F#
Those girls who smile kindly then rip your life to pieces
B G#m
Can somebody tell me now am I alone with this
F# G#m F#
this little pill in my hand and this secret kiss
(F#)
am I alone in this

B
A matter of complication
G#m
when you become a twist
C#m F#
for their latest drink as they're transitioning

B G#m
Can somebody tell me now who is this terrorist
F#
This little pill in my hand that keeps the pain laughin'
B G#m
Can somebody tell me now a way out of this
F# G#m F#
that sacred pipe of red stone could blow me out of this kiss
(F#)
am I alone in this

B
The power of orange knickers
G#m
under my petticoat
C#m F#
the power of listening to what you don't want me to know

B G#m
Shame shame time to leave me now shame shame you've had your fun
F#
Shame shame for letting me think that I would be the one
B G#m
Can somebody tell me now who is this terrorist
F# G#m F#
this little pill in my hand or this secret kiss
(F#) G#m F#
am I alone in this kiss
(F#) G#m F#
am I alone in this kiss
(F#)
am I alone in this

-Excuse the extremely non-technical language, i'm very much a beginner at guitar...

I would suggest for certain B chords to drop the note played on the G string (i think it's a B in fact!) down a fret (to a Bflat supposedly) while playing the other notes normally to give the chord that out-of-tune feel she gives when playing on the piano, it's that clash of that note with the B played on the 5th string that makes this song I think...

So i'd suggest playing it with the droppedin the opening chords "The power of orange knickers.." and again for "A matter of complication.." and normal B chords for the rest. I think.

I even tried plucking the notes out to fit with the piano solo at the start of the song:
5th(1st fret) x2, 3rd(3rd fret), 5th(1st fret) x 2, 4th(4th fret) etc...

Just an idea. Apologies if this is really basic. I'm a piano player really but guitar is so much handier for impromptu jamming seshes...

On the last part of the chorus you need to add a Emajor before the G#m. This is when she sings "kiss". Great tab!!
