G C G
I heard her sing in tongues of silver
G D G
I heard her cry on a summer storm
             C G
I loved her, but she did not know it
           D G
So I don't think about her anymore
C G
Now she's gone, and I can't believe it
                  D G
So I don't think about her anymore

G C G
If three and four were seven only
                       D G
Where would that leave one and two
                   C G
If love can be and still be lonely
                      D G
Where does that leave me and you?
C G
Time there was, and time there will be
                      D G
Where does that leave me and you?

G C G
If I had a buckskin stallion
                      D G
I'd tame him down and ride away
           C G
If I had a flyin' schooner
                  D G
I'd sail into the light of day
C G
If I had your love forever
              D G
Sail into the light of day

G C G
Pretty songs and pretty places
                 D G
Places that I've never seen
                 C G
Pretty songs and pretty faces
                   D G
Tell me what their laughter means
C G
Some look like they'll cry forever
                   D G
Tell me what their laughter means

G C G
If I had a buckskin stallion
                      D G
I'd tame him down and ride away
           C G
If I had a golden galleon
                  D G
I'd sail into the light of day
C G
If I had your love forever
              D G
Sail into the light of day

The chords seem right, but the placement of them is wrong. This seems to happen so often, people do the tough part of figuring out the chords, but don't get the placement of them right?

I really don't think this is right at all. It's playable (if you fix the placement like wilcoman1 suggested), though it isn't quite how Townes plays it. At least that's what it sounds like to my ear. Maybe someday I'll sit down and figure it out...
