Trampled By Turtles – Walt Whitman

[Intro]

Am C G
Am D

[Verse 1]

G D
Light it up like the city at night
C Am
Old dark bones in the city
G D C Am
Old Walt Whitman and borrowed alcohol
G D
We drove fast shaking all the way
         C Am
Like the waves in California
G D C Am
Sorry I never know what to say at all
Em G
   Caught in a whirlwind
Em G
   Dry as a bone
      D C
And I don't think that I can make it
C G
        On my own

[Chorus]

G C G
On my own, my own
G C G
On my own, my own
G C Am C G
On my own, my own

[Break]

Am D
G D C
Am G D
C Am G
D C Am
G D C
Am

[Verse 2]

     G D
Well burning love man it never ends
  C Am
I tried but I couldn't make it
        G D C Am
And your paperback lovers could never pay the bills
G D
worn it once and then let it go
   C Am
Or you may never shake it
G D C Am
End up drinking too much then poppin pills
Em G
   Loose like a feather
Em G
   And left here alone
    D C
And I don't think I can make it
      G
On my own

[Chorus]

G C G
On my own, my own
G C G
On my own, my own
G C Am C G
On my own, my own

[Ending]

Am D G (Hold)

There is a brief C chord following the Am after the chorus, and no C chord in the Outro i believe, otherwise its perfect!

Also intro goes:

Am C G
Am D

Listen to the song for the timing. Great song, great tab
