"Better"

I haven't figured out the exact variation he plays on these chords yet, but these are the chords he plays.
Loved watching him create this song, then play it!
Thank you Tyler!

[Intro]
E B C#m A (2x)

E
Yellow boxes in my car.

Pack 'em high til' I can't see far, yeah
A E
I'm moving on to better.

E
Try not to care what others think.

If I fail again try to swim and sink.
A E
They'll say I could do 'Better'.

E B C#m A
So I blame it on my optimistic heart.
E B C#m A
At least I'll have stories for my scars.
E B
American dream my life away,
C#m A
When all of my dream cry 'MAYDAY' 'MAYDAY'!
E C#m A
I'm may lose my heart, but one day I'll be a star!

E
They've promised me a bigger house.
                                                  A
I'll make the money playing out loud, don't you hear.
                      E
That sounds much 'Better'.

E
And if a make this dreaming last,
                                 A
Is it worth the painful past? I hope...
                        E
I hope this will get 'Better'.

E B C#m A
So I'll blame it on my optimistic heart.
E B C#m A
At least I'll have stories for my scars.
E B
American dream my life away,
C#m A
When all of my dream cry 'MAYDAY' 'MAYDAY'!
E C#m A
I'm may lose my heart but one day I'll be a star!

E B C#m A (2x)

E B
I'll tell you all about the things I left for,
C#m A
Hanging onto dreams, thought I was meant for,
E B C#m A
But never did I think it'd take the heart from me, it'd take the heart from me.

E B
I'll tell you all about the things I left for,
C#m A
Hanging onto dreams, thought I was meant for,
E B C#m A
But never did I think it'd take the heart from me, it'd take the heart from me.

E B C#m A

When all of my dream cry 'MAYDAY' 'MAYDAY'!
E C#m A
I'm may lose my heart, but one day I'll be a star!

E B
I'll tell you all about the things I left for,
C#m A
Hanging onto dreams, thought I was meant for,
E B C#m A
But never did I think it'd take the heart from me, it'd take the heart from me.

Hi there! Great tab. Let's hope to find those variations, guess we could find out by watching his "Song writing 101" vlog that's about the creation of this song.

Just a slight correction though, you forgot the B on every one of those last chorus lines.

E B C#m A
I'm may lose my heart, but one day I'll be a star!

Thanks for your work!

well he uses a partial capo or cut capo. so the chord variations would be different!

If you want to sound it like he plays it in normal tuining you should play an open E on the 12th fret with the B and E open. Then play the same chord on the 7th fret and move to 9 and 5. In tab:

-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
--13----8----9---6-------------------------
--14----9----9---7-------------------------
--14----9----x---7-------------------------
--12----7----9---5-------------------------
