Artist: Janelle Monae
Song: Locked Inside
Album: The ArchAndroid

             Bmaj7
I'm locked inside
  C#m D#m
A land called foolish pride
          Fm Bmaj7
Where the man is always right
            C#m D#m
He hates to talk but loves to fight
            Fm
Is that all right?

             Bmaj7
On real cold days
   C#m D#m
He loans us lots of hate
       Fm Bmaj7
But he says that we must pay
            C#m D#m
To take it all away
        Fm
Is that ok?

        Bmaj7 C#m
But I'm asking you will you stay with me
        D#m Fm
In this land where we are free
        Bmaj7 C#m
And I know its rough and you've had enough
        D#m Fm
But one day we'll be happy

Bridge:
       C#sus4 F#maj7
When I look into the future I see danger in its eyes
Dmaj7 Amaj7
Hearts of hatred rule the land While others left outside
C Gmaj7
Killing, bleeding citizen while music slowly dies
          E D E D
And I get frightened I, see I get frightened I

Chorus:
Bmja7 C#m
Oh how, oh how I need you baby
                       D#m
You keep me from going crazy
                  Fm
I really need you baby, need you to stay
Bmja7 C#m
Oh how, oh how I love you baby
                    D#m
These people are so crazy
                  Fm
I really need you baby, need you to stay

Bmaj7
She always fights
        C#m D#m
For her man but not her rights
     Fm Bmaj7
Even though it's 3005
             C#m D#m
When will we end this genocide?
               Fm
And that's not right

            Bmaj7
Her children cry
           C#m D#m
No food to eat and afraid as flies
          Fm Bmaj7
The color black means its time to die
      C#m D#m
And nobody questions why
                  Fm
Cause they're too scared to stop them now

        Bmaj7 C#m
But I'm asking you will you stay with me
        D#m Fm
In this land where we are free
        Bmaj7 C#m
And I know its rough and you've had enough
        D#m Fm
But one day we'll be happy

       C#sus4 F#maj7
When I look into the future I see danger in its eyes
Dmaj7 Amaj7
Babies die before they're born and no one ever smiles
    C Gmaj7
The writers and the artists, all are paid to tell us lies
           E D E D
To keep us locked inside, they keep us locked inside

Chorus

Bmaj7 C#m
 I can make a change
D#m Fm
 I can start a fire
B C#m
 Lord, make me love again
D#m Fm
 Father, fill me with desire

Bmaj7 C#m

Great work and thanks, Janelle is awesome! I think it's a C#11 chord instead of C#sus4 though. Also E/D instead of E

Thank you for the chords. I was stuck with some, as there are so many layers in a serious mix as this. I only wish to slightly amend babtrige's erroneous correction: I have gone for C#7sus4 (an 11th is the same note as a sus4). E with D bass make-a no sense...
