Smooth Criminal

Alien Ant Farm

Tons of versions of this song in tabs, but only 1 is really right (rest are a bunch of clutter).
I don't think it should discredit a chord version with lyrics and timing.

[Verse 1]

A5 B5
As he came into the window
     |C5 B5 G5 |A5
Was a sound of a crescendo
                  B5
He came into her apartment

(*can even take this a step further as E5-G5-F5-G5 - I'm trying to keep the tabs simplified)

A5 G5
   Annie, are you OK
        |F5 G5 |A5

There's a sign at the window

He came into your apartment
           |F5 G5 |A5
He left the bloodstains on the carpet

A5 B5 |C5 B5 G5 |(x2)

[Verse 2]

A5 B5
So they came into the outway
       C5 B5 G5 A5
It was Sunday, what a black day
                  B5
I could've made a salutation
         C5 B5 G5
Sounding heartbeats, intimidations

[Pre-chorus]

F5 F5 G5
Annie are you OK? You OK? Are you OK Annie?

Annie are you OK? You OK? Are you OK Annie?

Annie are you OK? You OK? Are you OK Annie?

[Chorus]

A5 G5
   Annie, are you OK
         F5 G5 A5
Will you tell us that you're OK
                     G5
There's a sign at the window

That he struck you. A crescendo, An--nie

Just a comment on the intro/verse tab I mapped out. The x's prior to beats 2 and 4 (of A5, 1st B5, and C5) were too complicated to display. If find on those it sounds really good to do a muted chord by lifting your fretted fingers slightly (not off), then while lifted scratch in a strum or two quickly, then hammer the chord back on intime for the following count.

The same idea carries into the pre-chorus and chorus tabs as well.
