[Verse 1]
           Dmaj7
Her name is Cherry
E9
We've just met
    Em9 A6
But already she knows me
       Dmaj7
Better than you
          Dmaj7
She understands me
      E9
After eighteen years
        Em9
And you still don't see me
A6 Dmaj7
Like you ought to do

[Verse 2]
Em7 A7
Maybe we could talk 'bout things
   Dmaj7
If you was made of wood and strings
Em7 A7
While I love her every sound
Dmaj7
I dunno how to turn you down
Em7 A7
You're so thick and my patience thin
Dmaj7
So I got me a new best friend
Em7 A7
With a pickup that puts you to shame
Dmaj7
And Cherry is her name

[Verse 3]
Dmaj7
And when I'm lonely
E9
Cherry's there
        Em9
And she plays along
      A6 Dmaj7
While I sing out my blues
           Dmaj7
I could be crying
     E9
And you don't care
           Em9
You won't call me back
         A6 Dmaj7
You're stubborn as mule
Em7 A7 Dmaj7
Maybe we could talk 'bout things
   Em7 A7 Dmaj7
If you was made of wood and strings
Em7 A7 Dmaj7
You might think I've gone too far
     Em7 A7 Dmaj7
I'm talking 'bout my new guitar

kjames5298 - I learned this song from this tab a while back, and when I first played it, D7* was marked as being e|-2 B|-2 G|-2 D|-0 A|-0 E|-0 It must have been removed since then, but it sounds right to me.
