Peacebone by Animal Collective
off their wonderful LP Strawberry Jam
tabbed by: Eric
lyrics taken from lyricalcollective (http://lyricalcollective.wikispaces.com)

EADGBe Standard Tuning
(perhaps slightly flat across all strings, less than half step)
I palm mute all chords, strumming once per beat, but play however you think sounds good

[Intro]
E up an octave (0-14-14-13-0-0) and bend or slide up and down as the keyboard
until the bass and drum comes in, then stay on regular E (022100)

[Verse 1]
  E A E
A Peacebone got found in the dinosaur wing
               E A E
Well I've been jumpin all over, but my views are slowly shrinking
        E A E
I was a jugular vein in a juggler’s girl
       E A E
I was supposedly leaking the most interesting colors

[Pre-Chorus]
      B E A E
While half of my fingers are dipped in the sand
    B E A E
You progress in letters but you're used to cooking broccoli
    B E A E
The other side of takeout is mildew on rice

[Chorus]
        C#m A B E
And an obsession with the past is like a dead fly
           C#m A B E
And just a few things are related to the "old times"
        C#m A B G#
Then we did believe in magic and we didn't die
            C#m A B E
It's not my words that you should follow, it's your insides
               B E
ou're just an inside
            B E
Adjust your insides
               B E
You're just an inside

[Verse 2]
          E A E
I bet the monster was happy when we made him a maze
               E A E
Cause he don’t understand intentions, he just looks at your face
          E A E
I bet the bubbles exploded to tickle the bath
            E A E
And all the birds are very curious all the fish were at the surface

[Pre-Chorus]
     B E A E
With half of me waiting for myself to get calm
           B E
I'm like a pelican at red tide
      A E
I'm a corpse, I'm not a fisherman
  B E A E
A blow out does not mean I will have a good night

[Chorus]
        C#m A B E
And an obsession with the past is like a dead fly
           C#m A B E
And just a few things are related to the "old times"
        C#m A B G#
Then we did believe in magic and we didn't die
            C#m A B E
It's not my words that you should follow, it's your insides
               B E
You're just an inside
            B E
Adjust your insides
               B E
You're just an inside

[Interlude]
E G#m C#m
A E

[Verse 3]
       E A E
Well I start in a hose and I end in a yard
       E A E
When I feel like I'm stealing I can keep myself from hearing God
         E A E
Only the taste of your cooking can make me bow on the ground
           E
It was the clouds that carved the mountains
           A E
It was the mountains that made the kids scream

[Pre-Chorus]
            B E A E
Oh well she bore all her parts but she never was found
               B E A E
You think I'll carve a path through New York and be an artist but are you anything?
         B E A E
Then you find out you can't ask a baby to cry

[Chorus]
        C#m A B E
And an obsession with the past is like a dead fly
           C#m A B E
And just a few things are related to the "old times"
        C#m A B G#
Then we did believe in magic and we didn't die
            C#m A B E
It's not my words that you should follow, it's your insides
               B E
You're just an inside
            B E
Adjust your insides
               B E
You're just an inside, inside, inside...

The progression in the chorus ("an obsession with the past...") should be C#m, A, B, E

Sounds nice, but i prefer with a capo on 2. Easier to play.

And an obsession (C#m) with the past (A) is like a dead (B) fly (E) And just a few things (C#m) are related (A) to the old (B) times (E) When we did (C#m) believe in magic (A) and we did (B) die (E/G#) It's not my (C#m) that you should follow (A) it's your in (B) -sides (E) Matches the song the best imho. Note the E major chord with G# on the bottom for "did die."
