[Verse 1]
Dm
Once upon a time
F Bb G
I was on a mind to lay your burden down
    Dm
And leave you where you stood
F
You believed I could
      Bb G
You’d seen it done before
Dm
I could read your thoughts
F
And tell you what you saw
    Bb G
And never say a word
    Dm
But now that is gone
F
Over with and done
    Bb G
And never to return

[Chorus 1]
Dm
I can tell you why
F
People die alone
Dm
I can tell you why
    Bb
The shadow on the sun

[Verse 2]
Staring at the loss
Looking for the cause
And never really sure
Nothing but a hole
To live without a soul
And nothing to be learned

[Chorus 2]
Dm
I can tell you why
F
People go insane
Dm
I can show you how
Bb
You could do the same
Dm
I can tell you why
F
The end will never come
Dm
I can tell you on
Bb
The shadow on the sun!!!

sorry bud, but the notes he plays during the verse are B/D, followed by A/C#, which works out to a Bm then A, you can make it an Asus2 because of the bass line. the chorus is E5, D5, then B5. I could keep going, but, you know...
