[Intro]
Am
[Verse 1]
Am G Am
There is a place that I used to go
Am G Am
Given its name by the buffalo
C G Am
Filled me up and eased my pain
Am G Am
Washed my soul without the rain
[Chorus]
Am C G
Oh, Aberdeen, you been calling to me
C G Am
Calling me to make my way back home
Am
To that cool summer breeze
C G
And those old evergreens
C G Am
The only place to rest my weary bones
[Verse 2]
Am G Am
Soon I will go and free my heart
Am G Am
To that sage and stone beneath the stars
C G Am
Clear my mind and float my soul
Am G Am
To lay down all my sorrows
[Chorus]
Am C G
Oh, Aberdeen, you been calling to me
C G Am
Calling me to make my way back home
Am
To that cool summer breeze
C G
And those old evergreens
C G Am
The only place to rest my weary bones
[Solo]
Am C G C G Am

For anyone who's wondering; in the alternative version that recently came out, I think he uses a D instead of an Am in the last sentence of the final chorus

I think Avi may do this in Em, and not Am. In all the live versions I've seen of this song his guitar is in D standard with a capo on 4, and playing the chord shapes of Dm (Dm, C, F). For E standard I transpose up 5 (or down 7) and capo to 2, so you can play the fingerpicking with the same chord shapes.
