I don't know why he tuned his guitar 1/2 step down, I'm guessing since you need to tune
by ear to match the song's tuning which isn't completely 1/2 step down but it isn't
completely standard E either.
 
Anyway, tuning aside, in 1/2 step down, the fast tapping part is
