DROPPED TUNING: C-G-C-F-A-c
Both E strings are tuned down to C, all other strings down a full tone.
Using a chromatic tuner makes this much easier and more accurate.
It's not advisable for very light gauge strings,
as the low C in particular will be quite slack and may rattle.
A very light touch is required for strumming or picking,
as this low tuning will go out of tune much more quickly than standard.
This is basically a double dropped D tuning D-A-D-G-B-d taken down a
further tone, so all the chord shapes would still work playing in D
if you wished, but you would be singing it a tone higher than Beck does.
Although the chord names sound complicated, there are just a few very simple
chord shapes to learn to achieve that hypnotic 'sitar-like' sound.
