Bernard Fanning - Thrill is Gone

Despite many other tabs, Bernard actually plays this song in an open E tuning with a capo on 1st fret. 
This is how he achieves the open chord sound as seen on this video:

He also plays it this way on the record as far as I can work out.

(I have shown the open E tuning on the left however the song does use a capo [hence E 1 etc] on the 1st fret 
 effectively making it in an open F tuning) The fingerings are taken off a capo on the 1st fret.
