Also, in the chorus, the chord on the word "interstate" is a Gm. Like this: Bb Gm Then a left will take you to the interstate Bb C F But a right will bring you right back here to me

Steven you are correct in what a capo will do but a capo is also used at times to keep the same key but have easier chord progression to play. In this case putting the capo in the 3 rd fret probably call for easier chord progression to play while still playing in the original key.
