A couple of notes. First, the D and the C are mostly played with an alternating 5th in the bass (except the C in the chorus). So the D bass alternates with A (the string above the open D string) and the C Bass alternates with G (the fret on the next lowest (thickest) string) is the G on the sixth string). This is a common pattern and can be used in many songs. Also, at the end of the chorus, he plays the A7 with the note D (second string, third fret, on the third beat of that measure). This would be sus4 if it were a major chord, but I don't know if it works that way as a seventh chord. Regardless, that is what he looks like he is doing. If someone could explain it better or more correctly, I would appreciate it. Both of these "embellishments" make the song sound a lot better without having to add in all of the little licks that he does. I have watched the intro about a dozen times on YouTube at 25% speed and I think I have the notes. I have never tabbed anything before, But I'll give it a try.
