x 4 6 6 x x --or-- 9 11 11 x x x x 7 9 9 x x

     A5 B5
5 7 7 x x x x 2 4 4 x x --or-- 7 9 9 x x x
Verse:

C#5 E5
unnatural skies drift away calmly
A5 B5 E5
behind the trees right before my eyes
C#5 E5
after that it gets dark rather quickly
A5 B5 E5
this changing of the weather brings a lack of hope
      C#5 E5
as my thoughts drift away
      A5 B5 E5
to us sitting in the south end of town
         C#5 E5
and what you said that day
      A5 B5 E5
(no lyrics)

Chorus:
     C#5 B5 A5
I've never seen that look in his eyes before
              C#5 B5 A5
I should have died he said eyes fixed on the floor
       C#5 B5 A5
I've never seen that look in his eyes before
              C#5 B5 A5
I should have died he said thinking of her

Verse:
C#5 E5
just as soon as the light changed
       A5 B5 E5
he was smoking and laughing again (whoa whoa whoa)
C#5 E5
reminding me of years ago
     A5 B5 E5
and telling me to never get old

Interlude:
C#5 A5 E5 B5
(no lyrics)
C#5 A5 E5 B5
(no lyrics)
